Our History
A Legacy of Brotherhood and Service Since 1887
East Fork Masonic Lodge No. 650, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, received its charter from the Grand Lodge of Texas on January 18, 1887. The Lodge officially began its work on February 18, 1887, in the Brown Town community, later known as Lone Elm.
The first lodge building was constructed in Brown Town. Following Masonic custom, the ground floor was made available for use as a community school. Officially designated District No. 63, it became widely known as the Lone Elm School. From its earliest days, East Fork Lodge was an important part of the educational and civic life of the community.
East Fork Lodge began with 24 charter members. Two additional members were raised during May and June of 1887, helping establish a lasting tradition of fellowship, service, and Masonic values.

As the community grew, the Lodge moved to downtown Wylie. For many years, members met on the second floor of the historic building at 129 North Ballard Avenue. This building, remembered as East Fork Lodge’s second home, remains an important part of Wylie’s historic downtown.
In late 1980, construction began on a new lodge building at 508 Parker Rd. The building was completed in March 1982, and its cornerstone was leveled according to Masonic tradition on June 12, 1982.

A formal dedication ceremony was held on November 3, 1984. Members of East Fork Lodge, representatives of the Grand Lodge of Texas, and members of the Wylie community attended. Grand Master R. H. “Bob” Waters presided over the ceremony.
Today, East Fork Masonic Lodge No. 650 continues the work begun by its founders in 1887. Through brotherhood, charitable service, Masonic education, and community involvement, the Lodge remains committed to the timeless principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth.
From a small gathering of Masons in rural Collin County to an active lodge serving a growing community, East Fork Lodge No. 650 proudly honors its past while building toward the future.
